"M.31", "K.62" and "K.85" by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Ari Benjamin Meyers relate to three films. "M.31" is a spooky musical pursuit based on Fritz Lang's 1931 film "M" and his haunting use of Edward Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". "K.62", inspired by Orson Welles' cinematic version of "Der Prozess" ("The Trial", 1962) is a musical crime film. The audience and an orchestra are equally involved as some magic and lots of Kafka. In "K.85" each member of the audience experiences a solo performance in the style of the dark comedy of "missed connections", influenced by Martin Scorsese's film "After Hours", 1985. Adam E. Mendelsohn (artist and critic in Brooklyn, New York): "’K.85’ was the type of theatre/ performance that keeps you guessing as to what’s happening and allows one to connect the dots and see its rigorous conceptual design a few days later." "K.62/K.85" was one of the highlights of Performa 2009 in New York. "M.31" was newly devised especially for the city of Berlin and HAU.
