About

This contemporary travelogue from virtual worlds traces years of experiences lived through avatars among other avatars in massively multiplayer online spaces. How can encounters, relationships, and collective rituals in digital environments be narrated once physical presence dissolves into code?

At a moment when vast attention and capital were being directed toward VR and the so-called metaverse, the work approaches these promises with curiosity, irony, and a desire for public clarification. It extends the invitation to examine who is currently designing the rules of future social life online.

Artist Statement

"Over several years in social VR, I encountered worlds, situations, and forms of intimacy that felt exhilarating, strange, confusing, and at times deeply unsettling. These experiences often seemed difficult to translate into everyday language, as if they belonged to a reality that existed just beside the one most people recognized. I became increasingly aware of a distance between those who had entered these environments and those who had never seen them, despite how profoundly they were already shaping contemporary culture. This project emerges from my ongoing search for forms—through storytelling, performance, images, and conversation—to speak about what happens there, and to make these invisible spaces tangible to others."
