Site-Specific Performance (2004)
40mins
The West Midlands in England, UK. An art gallery in the city centre. Two young women getting married in the middle of the day. Prepared by a wedding planner, the event included a vicar, a photographer and a musician. To attract as much attention as possible, the invited guests were placed inside the gallery, outside the gallery and in a very popular café on the opposite side of the road. Their focus on the scene encouraged other people - strangers to the couple - to take a closer look. With this performance, the B.A. Theatre and Professional Practice students reacted to the regional hostility parts of society showed towards instatement of same-sex marriage.
