Virtual World "dreams about girls" (since 2021)
What dreams emerge from the collective trauma of generations of misogynistic violence? In 2021, women joined this club to share their dreamt violent strategies of attack and defense. They met as avatars in a virtual world to recount their subconscious imaginations of female violence against men.
VRChat/Twitch, Performing Arts Festival Berlin, Germany (2021)
An open call asking women to contribute violent dream sequences against men prompted submissions from Berlin and Germany, but also internationally. Women from Mexico, Canada and Israel submitted dream sequences through a dedicated website, forming a shared archive of narratives. From these submissions, ten were selected and recorded as video interviews in Virtual Reality. Three of these dream sequences were later presented in a live stream interview from a virtual world in VRChat. Others were selected to be translated into 3D experiential environments within the virtual world dreams about girls in VRChat, extending personal imaginaries into collective virtual space.
