Kleines Familienspiel

performative installation

“Kleines Familienspiel” (“Small Family Play”) explores the process of coming of age in a performative installation in which a young man says goodbye to his family, his girlfriend and his circle of friends. With the performer in the room are six tube televisions that repeat pre-produced video messages. The short scene questions the theme of social connection. “Kleines Familienspiel” was shown as part of “Deutsche Zustände” (“German Conditions”), an evening in which six young directors staged small productions, talk shows, installations and music throughout various rooms of the Thalia Theater, from the rehearsal stage to the kitchen and into the deepest corners of the building.
