Kindertransporthilfe des Bundes

political art campaign

With their 2014 campaign “Kindertransporthilfe des Bundes” (“Federal Children’s Transport Aid”) the action art group Center for Political Beauty responds to the inactivity of European governments towards the 5,5 million Syrian children in acute need of help. This ready-to-use Federal Emergency Programme should allow 55.000 children - one in a hundred - to be temporarily admitted into Germany and taken in by foster families. The project also commemorates the 10.000 German children that were brought to safety in the UK in 1938/39. Through commercials, public actions, a hotline, a pseudo-political campaign and the critical reanimation of the Children’s Transport Memorial, “Kindertransporthilfe des Bundes” demonstrates how simple saving lives can be.
